Terms of Service for QuickLingo — Select & Understand

Last updated: August 28, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the QuickLingo Chrome extension ("QuickLingo," "the Extension," "we," "us"). By installing or using QuickLingo, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Extension.

1. What QuickLingo Is

QuickLingo is a Chrome browser extension that lets you highlight text on any webpage to translate it and get a plain-language explanation, in a floating widget on the page itself.

2. Free and Pro Plans

QuickLingo is available on a free plan with generous usage limits, and an optional Pro subscription ($4.99/month) that unlocks unlimited Explain usage, deeper explanations, unlimited history and search, and an expanded saved-words list with export. Current plan details and pricing are shown within the Extension and may be updated from time to time; if pricing changes, it will apply to new subscriptions and will be communicated before it affects existing subscribers.

3. Payments and Billing

Pro subscriptions are billed and processed by LemonSqueezy, our payment processor and Merchant of Record. By subscribing, you also agree to LemonSqueezy's Terms of Service. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel anytime; access to Pro features continues until the end of the current billing period, and no partial refunds are given for unused time unless required by applicable law.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use QuickLingo to:

5. Third-Party Services

QuickLingo relies on third-party services (Google Translate, Groq, Cloudflare, and LemonSqueezy) to function. We aren't responsible for outages, errors, or changes in these third-party services that may temporarily affect QuickLingo's availability or accuracy. See our Privacy Policy for details on what's shared with each.

6. No Warranty

QuickLingo is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Translations and explanations are generated automatically and may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete — QuickLingo should not be relied on for legal, medical, financial, or other decisions where accuracy is critical.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, QuickLingo and its developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Extension.

8. Changes to the Service or These Terms

We may update QuickLingo's features, limits, or pricing, and may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Extension after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Termination

You can stop using QuickLingo at any time by uninstalling the Extension. We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these Terms, including attempts to abuse free-tier limits or license verification.
